User Reputations are used to indicate the general opinion of someone's posts. Reputations can be either good or bad. Your reputation is based on two kinds of vote - positive and negative.

===How do I see another user's reputation?===
In the side panel that contains a user's information in their post (join date, location etc.) there should be a gold colored square http://srv.exbii.com/images/reputation/reputation_gold.gif or Gold http://srv.exbii.com/images/reputation/gold.png ,Silver http://srv.exbii.com/images/reputation/silver.png ,Bronze http://srv.exbii.com/images/reputation/bronze.png ,Black http://srv.exbii.com/images/reputation/small.png stars.If you hover your mouse pointer over them, this will give you their current rating. They show the value of the member. This value increases or decreases when other members add reputations to a user.

===How do I add reputations to another user?===
On the right hand side of the post, you should see this icon http://www.exbii.com/images/buttons/reputation.gif that looks like weighing scales. Click on this and it will open a window which allows you to state if you agree with the post. Selecting "I approve" and adding reputation will increase one's reputation points, whereas selecting "I disapprove" and adding reputation will decrease it.

===What is my "rep power"?===
Your "rep power" is the ability to have an effect on other users' reputation.
Users rep power is calculated based on number of posts, time on the forum, and reputation points that you have accumulated from other users. Your rep power will increase based on the following,

1st power if you have 25 posts and 1 rep point
Followed by

* + 1 power for every 151 days on the forum
* + 1 power for every 1333 posts you make
* + 1 power for every 1111 rep points you accumulate from other users

You cannot rep a person again before repping atleast 20 others. So in short you need to spread reps in order to rep the user again.

Please try and understand that reputation is something which should be given as a token of appreciation, but not as a bribe for getting back some reps. Here are a few guidelines you need to follow while giving reputation.

* Announcing that you have added reps AND asking reps in return. Just replying in someone's thread that you have added reps to him is fine, it is a token of appreciation.

* Making a small coterie where people always rep each other solely to increase rep count. We are already keeping an eye on a set of people like that, beware.

===My downloads consume more bandwidth than the actual file size. what could be the reason?===

The calculation of bandwidth consumed is done by the server. The script used to perform this calculation is widely used on many download websites and has been tested and used regularly to serve all our users without complaints.

If you recheck the files downloaded and bandwidth consumed in your filesquick user control panel, you may find something you have overlooked like cancelled downloads or duplicate downloads from your browser and download manager (if you allow your download manager to catch clicks from your browser) which may explain the extra consumption.

In rare circumstances a poorly built download manager may send malformed requests and utilize bandwidth without recieving data from the server or an extension in your browser prefetches(predownloads) a file without your knowledge. As for signatures, some members keep very large images. Thus takes a lot of time to load pages, especially for the dial-up users. Therefore, siggy image sizes are restricted to 150 pixels!!

<h4>How do I open a new thread?</h4>

To create a new thread, go to the appropriate forum where you intend to open a thread, [http://www.exbii.com/forumdisplay.php?f=7 Help, Requests, Bug Reports, Complaints etc.] for instance. Once you are in the appropriate forum, click on the icon which reads 'New Thread' http://www.exbii.com/images/buttons/newthread.gif, give a caption/title for your thread in the 'Title' field, input the message you want to convey in the 'Message' field, hit the 'Submit New Thread' button and a thread would be created.

<h4>Posting restrictions</h4>

You agreed, when you originally registered for the forum, that you will not use this BB to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, profane, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law. You also agreed not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you.

Please note that by copyrighted material, we mean any and all material that a copyright is owned on. This includes warez, written information, pictorial information, movies and information copied and pasted in from other areas of the internet.

Posts where the main point of the post is a link to another website or forum are also not acceptable unless it's within context. Whether or not it's in context is at the discretion of the forum moderators.

<h4>Can I advertise or promote my website?</h4>
eXBii is a privately owned website which is supported by legitimate advertising. As such, we do not permit non-authorised advertising within the forums. If you wish to advertise a service, please contact one of our administrators or supermoderators. Spamming of the forums in any format is not permitted and will result in an immediate ban.
* We do not allow website addresses in Thread Titles.
* Promotion of other forums, websites etc. is not permitted.

<h4>What happens if I break the rules?</h4>
There are various methods on eXBii to deal with rule breaches.
For serious rule breaches, we may choose to suspend or ban a user immediately. However, this is only in severe cases. Please check [[Infractions]] for more details.

<h4>Why do my username or posts have words converted to asterisks (*) ?</h4>
This is a community forum, and we wish it to remain that way. To this end, we have put in place an 'auto censor' which will censor your posts based on certain words on user name. These words will be blanked out with stars (*) in your posts. As for your posts, it will be censored if it contained any unacceptable material, such as banned URLs…
This censoring is done by a computer simply searching for words, and is by no stretch of the imagination 'intelligent', so occasionally you may find parts of perfectly innocent words get censored. If this happens to you, please let us know.
Please note that using "alternative" spellings for expletives to dodge the autocensor is not permitted and may result in action being taken by the forum mods.

<h4>What is Custom Title?</h4>
The text which appears beneath your user name is called Custom title. The text changes automatically depending on your post count. Members who have 1000 or more posts are entitled to have their own custom title. Please refer the following list for more details.

If your post has been edited or removed, then it is because one of the Moderators deemed it to be in breach of forum rules. Due to the large volume of posts, it is simply not possible for Moderators to contact every member every time a modification is made. Please don't expect them to do so and please do not start public threads about "Why was my post removed"
If you are genuinely unsure of the reason, please contact one of the Moderators for the Forum you posted in.

<h4>How do i delete My threads?</h4>

Our forums are administered by a team of Council members, Special officers, Forum Moderators, Supermoderators and Administrators. We aim to always have at least one member of staff on the forums - whatever the time of day.

'''Super Moderators''' are a moderators with extra powers than the Forum Moderators. They are able to edit/delete/move/merge any topic in any forum and banning troublesome users, and generally ensuring things run smoothly.
