How do I acquire bandwidth?

Downloading files from FilesQuick is allowed to all registered members. But bandwidth is limited. FilesQuick is completely automated and keeps track of your bandwidth limit. There are two ways to increase your bandwidth limit.

  • You can upload files to filesquick and post the links at eXBii or other websites. When other members download these files, your bandwidth allowance will increase by 10% of the bandwidth consumed by them. For instance, if you upload a 100MB file which is later downloaded by 24 persons, your bandwidth allowance will increase by 240MB.
  • You can buy bandwidth allowance. Visit the "paid subscriptions" on eXBii for this. There are many options available and it starts from as low as $3. eXBii and Filescheap are not business ventures and we seek no profit. Our aim is only to collect enough money to keep our servers running. Hence, our rates are made affordable for everyone.
  • You can buy Filescheap bandwith here.

Please note: There is no time limit specified for your bandwidth allowance, irrespective of how you acquire it. You can use both methods simultaneously to acquire bandwidth that is uploading files and buying bandwidth.

What benefits do I get with my paid subscription?

Where do I view the amount of bandwidth remaining ?

You can view your remaining bandwidth by checking your FQ Accountant.

I have purchased bandwidth but I get the "Sorry but you are not allowed to download” message. What’s wrong?

In all probability you are not logged in at FilesQuick. FC allows you to browse without logging in, but for downloading you must login. After you login, the navigation bar will show "Logged in as: Your username".

If you still face problems, please send a message here with your transaction details, we will correct it ASAP.

My downloads consume more bandwidth than the actual file size. what could be the reason?

The calculation of bandwidth consumed is done by the server. The script used to perform this calculation is widely used on many download websites and has been tested and used regularly to serve all our users without complaints.

If you recheck the files downloaded and bandwidth consumed in your filesquick user control panel, you may find something you have overlooked like cancelled downloads or duplicate downloads from your browser and download manager (if you allow your download manager to catch clicks from your browser) which may explain the extra consumption.

In rare circumstances a poorly built download manager may send malformed requests and utilize bandwidth without recieving data from the server or an extension in your browser prefetches(predownloads) a file without your knowledge. Please check this thread for a list of download managers tested by our members.

I have a different question, who may I contact?
