Requirements,

  • Ulead GIF animator
  • GOM player

  • Select the video from which you want to make a GIF clip. Preferably use DVD rip video for good quality GIF.
  • Run the video with GOM player , Click control panel, advance capture and set JPEG quality highest, also enter no. of images you want in capture.

  • I have selected JPEG quality 255 and Burst capture images 30 .
  • Also mention the directory you want to save the captured images.
  • When the video is running click on Burst capture.
  • You will get 30 no.s of images which will be saved in designated folder/directory.

  • Now open the Ulead GIF animator , on first screen enter the size and width of the video clip. Click next

  • Select the JPEG images for which you will be making the animation. Click open and then next.

  • Set the time delay between the frames. click next and finish

  • you get a screen as below, with all the caps selected in bottom panel, I have selected 19 pictures.

  • Keep the required size of image with the help of selection tool, select the area on one picture and press CTR-R.

  • you can view the animation on preview window, if not suitable you can re-edit by pressing CTR-Z.

  • To change the size of image by edit/resize image and giving required dimensions. This is helpful for reducing the size of GIF file.

  • To Reduce the size of GIF file, delete the similar looking frames from the bottom panel.
  • Add text to image click on text tool, enter the required text in the new window and click OK

  • With help of CTR C and CTR V function, copy this text to other pictures also in the bottom panel

  • I have deleted intermittent pictures so that I have only 15 pictures, this has reduced the size of my GIF file.

  • Please save the file as GIF by file/save as/gif
